‘The Passion of Stanley Spencer’: A talk about this most passionate of artists by Rev. Ian Cooper for U3A
April 28 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Stanley Spencer was an Edwardian artist who had a brief connection with the area around Stroud, Gloucestershire. Stanley was a most passionate man; a passion that was revealed in his portraits and landscapes but above all in his extraordinary religious paintings. His passion led to both love and suffering. Ian Cooper’s talk will include many illustrations of Stanley’s art.
