National u3a Day, Wednesday 2nd June
May 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pmFree
Following the founding of the u3a movement in the UK in 1981, the number of groups grew rapidly over the next ten years. By 2010 membership had reached 250,000. Today that figure has almost doubled to over 400,000 spread across more than 1,000 independent u3a associations throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
There is no minimum age requirement to join the u3a. Our objective is to support people who are no longer in full-time employment and miss the social interactions they once had throughout their working life. It’s a well-known fact that good mental health relies on social interaction, learning a new skill or simply improving an existing personal interest amongst friends.
On Wednesday 2 June, members of the Camelot Area u3 will be setting up an information point on the cobbles at the Market House between 10.00am and Midday. So please come along and join us for a coffee, pick up some information and have a chat with our members.
Fingers crossed that the sun will be shining and hopefully many of you will come and meet us.
See you there!
