Bruton Unionist Club was formed in 1913 and was built by six local businessmen on donated land.
Today it is run as a successful members only social club by a dedicated committee and is an important social hub for the local community.
Non-members are very welcome to hire any of our facilities and new members are welcomed all throughout the year, just pop in one evening and pick up and complete our membership form. Members will receive a discounted rate for any hire.
Our facilities include: Club Bar with Pool Table,Darts Boards, Skittle Alleys, Snooker Room (small fee charged to both members & non-members for use of the Snooker Room) plus Table Tennis Table. There is also the main hall, kitchen, meeting room and a large outdoor green area (formerly the Bruton Bowling Club ground), all of which can be hired as a whole or as required depending on what you are looking for.
The main hall is an ideal venue for a wide range of functions, from family parties to regular activities or classes, wedding receptions and live entertainment, or maybe a play as at one end of the hall is a raised stage area. The main hall is licensed to accommodate up to 199 people in total (however if you hire the bar as well and open up all the way through then this increases to 250, with room for in excess of 100 seated at tables for formal dining (in the main hall only). Full separate kitchen facilities are available to use or can be utilised by outside catering companies.
