Top American blues musician Guy Davis is to perform at the Caryford Community Hall in Castle Cary, Maggs Lane, BA7 7JJ, on Monday 15 August. He’s the first in a programme which it’s hoped will bring a steady flow of top musicians and new audiences to the 200-capacity venue.
Guy Davis has recorded more than 13 albums and has also enjoyed acting success on and off-Broadway – most recently in Finian’s Rainbow. His stage presence adds an extra dimension to his concerts during which he mixes traditional blues songs with his own self-penned compositions which he accompanies on guitar, banjo and harmonica.
Guy recently guested with British singer Joss Stone in front of 50,000 people at a festival in Switzerland and his Caryford Community Hall concert is part of a short summer run of 10 UK dates before he moves on to Europe.
Tickets for the 7.30pm show are £12.50 (£10 concessions) and available online from www.wegottickets.com and in person from the Market House in Castle Cary (weekday mornings only). Free parking, licensed bar.
